The chickens have a new friend

The “girls” are not laying particularly well at the moment in spite of having a boyfriend. It might have something to do with the transition of the food. Adin and the kids have started to grind corn and add greens etc. to it. They them mix it with the purchased concentrate. They have also learned how to grow larva which the chickens particularly like. Adin and the students will continue to work towards more economical food sources in the interest of sustainability.

I have just given them the go ahead to purchase 30 pullets. We’ll see how that helps the amount available for supplementary food for the kids and supporting the expenses.

We delivered some of the field dressing bags that we brought and discussed some possibilities of developing a Tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment program for San Jose. We sure would like to pursue a community health TB program.

Prep for our trip to El Chilar tomorrow… enlisting the kids help to fill baggies with trail mix for the students at the school.
